Track Loader Rental Rates: Takeuchi and Develon
ACT rents compact track loaders for $275 to $475 a day, $850 to $1,100 a week, or $2,500 to $3,300 a month, before delivery: the Takeuchi TL8, TL10, and TL12 and the Develon DTL35. Attachments rent with the machine from $59 a day, and the TL12 with a mulching head is $1,000 a day. Call 800.462.2447 for availability.
ACT is a Takeuchi dealer for the Carolinas and Virginia, and the Takeuchi TL line is the backbone of the rental fleet: the TL8 for general site work, the TL10 for grading and heavier attachments, and the TL12 for production work and high-flow attachments. The Develon DTL35 rents alongside them. Every loader is available with or without a cab, goes out serviced and ready, and ships from the Charlotte branch to jobsites across North and South Carolina.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Takeuchi TL8 | 7,485 lb | 1,800 lb | $275 | $850 | $2,500 |

Rates are current and the same at every ACT branch, before delivery and attachments. For compact articulated loaders and the Kanga mini loader, see the wheel loader rentals page.
The TL12 with a mulching head
For brush and small-tree clearing from the ground, ACT rents the TL12 fitted with a mulching head as a package: $1,000 a day, $3,000 a week, $9,500 a month. The high-flow hydraulics on the TL12 are what let the head run at full speed all day; a standard-flow loader cannot do this job. For clearing that needs reach, over banks or into thick brush, the TB290 excavator with a mulcher is on the excavator rentals page.
Track loader or skid steer
ACT rents compact track loaders rather than wheeled skid steers, and for most Carolina jobs that is the right machine. Tracks spread the weight over several square feet, so the loader floats on wet clay, sand, and freshly graded soil where a wheeled machine ruts in or gets stuck, and it leaves finished grade and lawns intact. The trade-off is speed on pavement and track wear on abrasive surfaces, which matters for a demolition contractor working on concrete all day and almost nobody else. If the site has been wet, or will be, rent the track loader.
Attachments that rent with the machine
One loader with the right attachment does the work of several machines. Attachments go on the quote with the loader so they ship together:
| Attachment | Day | Week | Month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hydraulic breaker, 500 to 750 lb class | $200 | $600 | $1,800 |
| 4-in-1 bucket | $100 | $300 | $900 |
| Brush hog | $175 | $500 | $1,500 |
| Pallet forks | $59 | $100 | $300 |
| Auger with bit | $250 | $650 | $1,250 |
| Extra auger bit | $25 | $75 | $225 |
Larger breakers and grapples are quoted on request.
Which size do I need
- Landscaping, light grading, and material handling on a tight site: the TL8. At 7,485 lb it is the easiest to tow and fits where larger loaders do not.
- Grading, loading trucks, running an auger or breaker: the TL10. More lift, more flow, still a one-trailer machine.
- Production work, high-flow attachments, and mulching: the TL12 or DTL35. The TL12 is the machine to ask for when the attachment is the point of the rental.

What is included and what is extra
- Included: a machine that goes out serviced and ready to work, and no repair bills for normal use. Normal wear and tear is not charged.
- Extra: delivery and pickup, quoted by location when you book, and any attachments you add.
- Coverage, your choice: ACT’s loss and damage waiver (LDW) added to the rental agreement, or a completed certificate of insurance (COI) from your insurance company.
- Your responsibility: an operator (ACT does not supply operators) and damage caused by negligence.
Daily, weekly, or monthly
A TL8 is $275 a day or $850 a week, so three days ($825) already costs a week. A TL12 is $475 a day or $1,100 a week; the week wins on day three. Monthly rates run about three weeks’ worth: the TL8 is $2,500 a month against $850 a week.
ACT rents by the day, week, and month. On most machines a week costs about the same as three days and a month about the same as three weeks, so a job that runs past two days is usually priced by the week and a job past three weeks by the month. You do not have to get it right up front: the rental team watches active rentals and moves you to the weekly or monthly rate when that is cheaper for you. If the job runs long, keep the machine and call the rental desk; extensions are handled the same way.
Delivery across the Carolinas
Rental equipment ships from ACT’s Charlotte branch to jobsites across North Carolina and South Carolina, with pickup at the end of the rental. Delivery and pickup fees are quoted by location when you book, and the charge is the same whether the machine stays two days or two weeks, so a longer term spreads it further. You can also pick up with your own truck and trailer rated for the machine.
