Wheel Loader Rental Rates: Develon, Avant, and Kanga
ACT rents Develon wheel loaders for $750 to $900 a day, $1,500 to $2,725 a week, or $4,500 to $8,200 a month, and Avant compact articulated loaders for $250 to $350 a day, plus a Kanga mini loader at $175 a day, before delivery. The Develon machines load trucks and move material in volume; the Avant and Kanga get through gates and across lawns. Call 800.462.2447 for availability.
Two very different machines answer “I need to move material”: a full-size wheel loader that fills a tandem in three passes, and a compact articulated loader that fits through a garden gate. ACT rents both. Develon wheel loaders from the DL200 to the DL380 cover yards, pits, and site work; Avant compact loaders and the Kanga mini loader cover landscaping, hardscape, nurseries, and anywhere the machine has to go where a skid steer cannot. All rates are current, the same at every ACT branch, and before delivery.
Develon wheel loader rental rates
| Model | Operating weight | Day | Week | Month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Develon DL200 / DL220 | 29,000 lb | $750 | $1,500 | $4,500 |
Develon DL250 / DL280 | 35,000 lb | $850 | $2,500 | $7,000 |
Develon DL320 / DL380 | 45,000 lb | $900 | $2,725 | $8,200 |
The DL200 and DL220 are the general-purpose size for loading trucks and handling aggregate; the DL250 and DL280 add bucket capacity and reach for stockpiles and larger hoppers; the DL320 and DL380 are production machines for pits and plants. Buckets and forks are available with the machine.
Avant and Kanga compact loader rental rates
| Model | Day | Week | Month |
|---|---|---|---|
Avant 528 | $250 | $750 | $2,200 |
Avant 630 | $300 | $950 | $2,800 |
Avant 755 | $325 | $1,000 | $3,000 |
Avant 860 | $350 | $1,050 | $3,200 |
Kanga mini loader | $175 | $700 | $2,050 |
Avant loaders articulate in the middle, so the rear wheels follow the front and the machine turns in its own length without tearing turf. The 528 and 630 are the landscaping and hardscape sizes; the 755 and 860 lift pallets of pavers and block and run the heavier attachments. The Kanga is a stand-on mini loader for the tightest access: between houses, through narrow gates, and inside buildings. Our guide to wheel loaders covers what sets the classes apart.
Which loader for the job
- Loading trucks, moving aggregate, feeding a crusher or screen: a Develon DL200 or DL250. If the material is stockpiled high or the hopper is tall, step up a size for the reach.
- Hardscape, retaining walls, pavers, nursery and farm work: an Avant 630 or 755. Pallet forks and a bucket cover most days.
- Backyards, between houses, interior demolition cleanup: the Kanga or an Avant 528, the narrowest machines on this page.
What is included and what is extra
- Included: a machine that goes out serviced and ready to work, and no repair bills for normal use. Normal wear and tear is not charged.
- Extra: delivery and pickup, quoted by location when you book, and any attachments you add.
- Coverage, your choice: ACT’s loss and damage waiver (LDW) added to the rental agreement, or a completed certificate of insurance (COI) from your insurance company.
- Your responsibility: an operator (ACT does not supply operators) and damage caused by negligence.
Daily, weekly, or monthly
A DL200 is $750 a day or $1,500 a week, so the week wins on day three. An Avant 630 is $300 a day or $950 a week, the same break point. Monthly rates run about three weeks’ worth.
ACT rents by the day, week, and month. On most machines a week costs about the same as three days and a month about the same as three weeks, so a job that runs past two days is usually priced by the week and a job past three weeks by the month. You do not have to get it right up front: the rental team watches active rentals and moves you to the weekly or monthly rate when that is cheaper for you. If the job runs long, keep the machine and call the rental desk; extensions are handled the same way.
Delivery across the Carolinas
Rental equipment ships from ACT’s Charlotte branch to jobsites across North Carolina and South Carolina, with pickup at the end of the rental. Delivery and pickup fees are quoted by location when you book, and the charge is the same whether the machine stays two days or two weeks, so a longer term spreads it further. You can also pick up with your own truck and trailer rated for the machine.
The Avant and Kanga ride on a tag trailer; the Develon wheel loaders need a lowboy, which ACT quotes with the rental.
