The Pettibone Traverse is the industry’s only line of telescopic handlers with an extendable boom that traverses horizontally. With up to 70 inches of horizontal boom transfer, users can place loads precisely without having to coordinate multiple boom functions, bringing an added level of safety and efficiency to the jobsite.

The Traverse T944X features an extendable, traversing boom that moves loads by traveling horizontally. This unique capability provides greater safety and precision when placing loads. The T944X provides up to 70 inches of horizontal boom transfer, the industry’s only new machine with this capability. With Traverse, the specified lift height is the same as the landing height. This stands in contrast to a traditional fixed boom pivot, where the true landing height is generally several feet less than the advertised lift height, as operators must account for withdrawing the forks out of the load with enough rearward travel for the fork tips to clear the landing zone.
The Traverse T1056X offers a unique traversing boom carriage that allows users to precisely place loads at full lift height without having to coordinate multiple boom functions. The Traverse provides up to 70 inches of horizontal boom transfer, the industry’s only new machine with this capability.
The Extendo 944X telehandler is powered by a standard 74-horsepower engine and is equipped with Pettibone hydraulics. It has a 9,000lbs load capacity and a forward reach of up to 30 feet, with a maximum lift height of 44 feet, 6 inches.
The DOC muffler on the 74-horsepower Deutz Tier 4 Final diesel engine eliminates the need for diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). Side pod mounting allows for quick service access while maintaining excellent curbside visibility and ground clearance. The ergonomic seat, pedal, joystick, and steering wheel positions make operating the machine comfortable. It is available as an enclosed cab or canopy, with an all-steel interior and water-resistant components for easy cleaning. Boom deflection has been reduced for improved control and accuracy when laying loads, while the boom overlap was nearly doubled to offer smoother operation and reduce contact forces on wear pads. The compression tilt design allows for a smaller bore cylinder while maintaining the same tilt force.
Cylinder cushioning dampens the end of strokes, both extending and retracting, preventing hard jarring stops and avoiding wear and tear as well as potential load spills.
The hydraulic circuits of the Extendo 944X provide remarkable controllability and efficiency.
The Extendo 1046X is a 10,000-pound capacity machine with a lift height of up to 46 feet, 5 inches. It is available with a Cummins or a Deutz Tier 4 Final diesel engine. The DOC muffler on the 74-horsepower Deutz Tier 4 Final diesel engine eliminates the need for diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). Side pod mounting allows for quick service access while maintaining excellent curbside visibility and ground clearance. The drivetrain and axles have been designed to deliver more tractive effort with the least amount of compromise in top end speed.
High steer axles from the Dana 212 Series provide exceptional tractive effort. While the tight steer angle capability allows for a smaller turning radius. The Dana VDT12000 Powershift transmission offers three speeds, forward, reverse, and the full time 4-wheel drive offers a limited-slip front axle differential.
The hydraulic circuit of the Extendo provides remarkable controllability, efficiency, and cycle speeds.
Cylinder cushioning dampens the end of strokes – both extending and retracting – to avoid forceful, jarring stops and wear-and-tear as well as dangerous load spillage.
Formed boom plates provide better boom strength while weighing less. The boom deflection has been reduced for improved control and accuracy when laying loads.
To offer smoother operation and lower contact stresses on worn pads, boom overlap was nearly doubled, and the bottom-mounted external extend cylinder rescues wear on the wear pads while the cylinder location also providing greater service access to internal boom components.
The compression tilt design allows for a smaller bore cylinder while maintaining the same tilt force.
The 1544X has a 15,000-pound capacity and a lift height of up to 44 feet for enhanced lifting capabilities in highway construction, pipe yard operations, and construction sites. Powered by a 117-horsepower Cummins QSF3.8 Tier 4 Final diesel engine with DEF and SCR aftertreatment. Side pod mounting allows for quick service access while maintaining excellent curbside visibility and ground clearance. Damage-resistant, all-steel fuel and hydraulic tanks. The fuel tank holds enough fuel for a full day of work at 100% load.
